EVO X with Cosworth Cams (Before and After Dyno Graph inside)
"
Just ran the cams on a already ECUTek tuned EVOX. The car has intake, full exhaust, piping, biggee i/c. Nice MBC. Stock fuel system. One of the strongest cars I have dynoed and tuned so far.
This is before and after. Before tuned and running good. After is cas only, no other mode and not re-tuned. Same boost before and after.
Then did a little tuning. Added a degree of ignition advance between 3500 and 6000 since there was no knock or timing pull. Played with MIVEC a little. Overall about three tweaks as time allowed. ECUTeK takes a long tome to upload changes. Boost is untouched.
So, overall gains with the cams installed and some touchup tuning.
Fun stuff. These are an early release pair. Production ones are still a few weeks away.

Seems slightly odd that the cams make the most gains in the 5500-6500 range but 40 WHP is a ton from cams! 30 AWTQ are nice gains too though so they look better in every way. I'm wondering if these would get me to the 113-114mph trap speed range even on the stock turbo. Definitely worth looking at for when I upgrade turbos/fuel in the spring though!
How was the idle and drivability? Did you need upgraded valve springs?

I'll definately say it again. The 4B11 cylinder head is AWESOME compared to the 4G63 head. Even with boost dropping like a rock it still makes peak power at 6600 RPM or so. I wouldn't be surprised to see 400 WHP on the stock turbo when more parts become available for the car (particularly intake manifold). So glad I bought one. Are you guys running stock injectors? Larger injectors? What IDC are you seeing?

Papi4baby,
I don't think people are going to be dropping in cams on a BONE STOCK Evo Period... it's not your typical "first mod"
Cams are going to force more air in and out... and without the proper mods, imo you wont see "great" benefits.
You'll atleast need a drop in filter/ full exhaust and a tune to take advantage.
I think those numbers are what 85-90% of Evo X owners can expect to gain. Although these are the test sets from Cossie, The real sets should be exactly the same. If I can remember correctly, these are the 272's

I think these cams will be a bit more difficult to Install/Remove..so I have heard haha. It's not the MIVEC either, it's the fact that it's a timing chain, instead of Timing Belt.

Those numbers are w/ the stock injectors, stock fuel pump, PER MIKE W of RRE
Hope that answers some of your questions.
