What A/R turbine housing are you using?

I would guess the 0.63 or 0.82 since the 1.06 stainless Tial housing isn't quite out yet but should be soon. I'm using the 0.82 on the wife's car and it spool up awesome. Hers is the HTA. Are you guys using the HTA cover as well? Granted that hers a 2.4 liter but that is some wicked spool up on the X. Way better than the VIII or IX. I suspect the head and the MIVEC on the exhaust really help.

I'm getting more and more excited about the Evo X and the development of new performance parts. I am really starting to lean more towards the X than the IX, still undecided. Either way i'm excited about the Progress you guys at AMS are making.

Please look at the torque.

AMS is awesome we all know that and it shows great hp truly the potential is there, however that's just a small part.

Unfortunately the torque is terrible, which could be due to the lack of fuel pressure and tuning.

If we can get a kit ~500hp ~500ft/lbs on a 4b11 you will be a god.

if it could become a reality, people would be lining around the block to pick one up.

I don't think you understand how horsepower and torque work, or are related to each other.

Fuel pressure = torque? Please don't mislead people who don't know any better.

I promise you that tuning is not the reason why it doesn't make as much torque as you think it should.

Do you understand that horsepower and torque are equations of each other?

There are not a lot of mods either....

No Cams

No Race Gas

This very easily could be a nasty DD with quick spool up!! That's very impressive actually!

When you look at a lot of 8/9 builds, they all have aftermarket intake's, throttle bodies, cams, meth injection.... Just those 4 items make a TON of difference in the power/ torque.

HP = Torque X RPM / 5252

dankaristo, I'll borrow Chris's X with it's "horrible" torque and race you. We'll see who wins.

Again, too many people are worried about peak numbers alone. Compare that torque curve to one on a stock turbo X. Sure, peak numbers might be more on the stock turbo one; but also take notice to how quickly that torque falls down and keeps falling down on the graph.

Bottom line - While peak torque may not be astronomical, that torque is held fairly consistantly throughout the rpm's. When something like this happens, you make HP!
