Thanks Eric. So looking over the data from the 4G63 you gained ~4-5% whp by the CNC porting work depending on the max boost. So is it reasonable to expect the same for the X or is the 4B11 another animal?

well the drag car picked up over 140whp on top of a the cosworth head on a 1100 whp car. Over stock on that particular car would be over 15% gain. The gain is really going to depend on the supporting mods...every car will be different. We have yet to see or read about ANY other head for the EVO VIII/IX making more power than this head though.

As far as if the X will react the same...honestly its too early to tell. I can say the size of the ports from stock to CNC are much larger in comparison to that of an VIII/IX head. Meaning the percentage of increase in size is pretty dramatic on a X. Although even with the smaller ports the X seems to have a better designed head from the factory.

We are not ones to bench race let along bench dyno so we will wait for some raw results rather than speculating

Eric

Looks badass. I would like to see the video showing how the process is done, but when I clicked the link, it says that the video was removed. Any other links so that we can see how this is done? BTW, beautiful work... I can't wait to see what kind of numbers you guys get from this. The X is really impressing me more and more these days. I had faith in it all along, and I'm happy to see that the 4b11 is an engine that can continue the legacy of the 4g63 as being one of the most capable 4 cylinder engines on the planet. Go mitsu!

Thanks Eric for posting up the flow results but I am a little confused here: How come there was less relative flow under the low lift intake? I thought there would be positive gains throughout; after all you are taking material away, so wouldn't there a positive flow gain everywhere albeit lift dependent?

Later, Ken

How do these gains and loses affect spool up, response, etc, basically how does it impact the characteristics of power delivery ?. Im new to this sort of stuff.
