Is LIP worth to get it? do I get any gains from LIP?

 

Im not sure about the X but the 8 and 9 gain around 15hp and the turbo spools a bit faster. Just remember that doing modifications changes the VE of the engine and requires a retune of the fuel curve to maximize gains.

 

i have looked at the LIP and it doesn't really appear that there is much to improve upon.

Unless you want to go bigger, i just don't see the oint for <400 hp.

 

from what I have read on the forums and heard from people the LICP on the X is fine if you are running the stock turbo. All the dynos I have seen all see an increase of about 2hp. I think this the reason AMS hasn't released one yet. But needless of what the results are I am ordering the LICP soon, I already have the UICP, it just doesn't feel right without them both.

That's because the lower IC pipe on the 9 was the hot pipe, i.e. the charge pipe from the turbo. On the X, the upper IC pipe is the charge pipe, so it's opposite. The cold pipe almost never produces gains because it's not under the same pressures as the hot pipe, and because the diameter is constant.

The charge pipe on the X gains a few hp on a stock tune, but with a tune to optimize the VE characteristics, it gains about 10 whp compared to a tuned X on the stock piece. Hope this helps clear things up for you.

no wonder Ralliart, ARC, HKS or Blitz dont make one, I guess its kinda useless.

HKS has one, but it only comes with their full intercooler kit.

 

Well, HKS has only section of it that replaces the stock rubber elbow that connects to the intake. The rest remains stock.
I think that LIP doesn't need upgrading.
