BR EVOX, 400+ whp on pump gas with Cosworth cams

Wow, that's what I think of the difference adding the Cosworth cams to the EVO X. Very good gains.

Just adding the cams, with no retune what-so-ever, the car picked up 30 whp at around 6,000 rpm and 28 ft lbs at peak torque. I knew it was only going to get better after the car was tuned.

As you will see from the below dyno graph before the cams the boost was set at 25.2 psi and after the cams the boost was 24.7 psi. I did not bother to re-adjust the boost or try to run more boost during any of the dyno runs. I wanted to tune the car at a level I can use for any customer.

Here is the dyno sheet of our EVO X with our Stages 1-3 on it, 780 injectors and the Domininator turbo on it VS. the same thing with the new Cosworth cams and tuned. 407 whp and 341 ft lbs of torque on 93 octane!

Here is the dyno sheet of the car with our Stages 1-3 on the car on the stock turbo with stock cams. We've gained 110 whp and 46 ft lbs!

Wow, those cams seem to be pretty damn impressive. Do you have specs for the cams?

How does it idle and run normally with the cams.

Do the cams work well with the soft, uncontrolled OEM valvetrain?

Wow, huge gains there. What does 400whp on your dyno translate to on a DJ?

Why Cosworth? I have yet to see anyone use the JUN or HKS cams(do they have a set for X yet).

Looks very impressive. So how long was it for the cams installation, im sure there's quite a few people that are interested on this.

Is it correct to say that with cams the turbo spooled sooner or is that just because of the run starting 500~rpm sooner?

Sorry, I left some things out.

The idle is pretty rough, the car has not stalled but it has a very lopey idle with the cams in.

The cams are the Cosworth MX-1's, they are 266 duration.

I'd guess that a 40 whp gain is a 40 whp gain no matter what dyno the car is on.

Based on the fueling the car required I'd say the car has even more low end than it did before. I didn't notice I started the run sooner until you just pointed it out. If I get some time I'll go back and see if I have runs from yesterday starting at 2500, which I should.

Wow, this looks like 450/380 on a dynojet..with only 25psi too. Will the turbo make power to 30psi?

hahaha slorice, I'm with you.

I initially had the car at 27 psi the first day I started tuning it. The car will make more power over 25 psi I am sure of it. That will come next week. First the universal tune so I have something to use for customers and then the big power

No video today. We are trying to finish a hundred things today so we can close the rest of the week for New Years. I'll get some video next week and post it up.
