Only a few bad launches and the clutch is toast? Hard to believe. I would've gotten a second opinion on the clutch, or at least looked at it myself..

I agree, there is no way the clutch is toast. A few bad launches is not going to glaze a clutch like that, unless its a burnout for like an hr

May be something with the install, I know on my buddies GSX, the clutch was ****ed up after launching it because of the way it was installed. They shimmed the living hell out of his fork, and it just put WAY to much pressure on the pressure plate, cracked it all the way around.

hell maybe I caught a bad clutch. I do remember when I ordered the clutch and received it my shop told me it didnt come with a throwout bearing. We called the company I ordered it from and they said the reason why was because it was one of the older ACT EVO X clutch kits. They were trying to clear out.

I have an ACT on my VIII with 500hp also. Still holding like a champ. It's been on now for 15k miles and had more than 25-30 launches... Also, on my X had maybe 15-20 Launches and just now starting to give out at 9k miles... IDK... how bad are you really slipping this thing... eventually as the car starts to rolll u might want to let off of it... lol... ALSO! BIG NOTE (maybe you missed this or not, but i did when i first got the X) HOLD your Traction control button for 3+ SECONDS till it beeps and lets you know it's off... if you keep it on (from my experience) you'll roast the clutch all day long and every launch!

What prompted you to have it checked out in the first place? Was it slipping or something?
