yea i read his post on it before, i guess ill read it again.

i just wanted to see how the avg joe does it and the time it took in their garage. maybe some setbacks that they should had prepared for. like how it took that guy 10 days when i would think we could tackle it in a day?

normally i would take it to a shop, but none of the shops here done a new evo x. i would be their first car and if they are going to learn on my car. i rather my friends learn on it since they have a car wrenching background.

No offense, but if you have to ask "is it hard to install cams", I think you should either take it to a shop or get a mechanic buddy to help you out.

Check the service manual, it seems like you don't have to pull off the oil pan or front cover to replace the cams like everyone else did. From the looks of the manual, it looks like about a 4 hour job to me.

The rest of the manual is here.

It doesn't look like you can get a socket/wrench on to the cam sprocket bolt while it's on the head.

i dont touch my car, my buddies do, so im not worried. i just take pics while they wrench. i'm more of a computer geek, they are the mechanics. i just drive the car.

thanks sic, stuff like this i could print and have my buddies reference when needed. i like to read, post, and learn stuff, but i still keep the wrenching to the experienced.

Should be 4-6hrs R&R depending on your methods, if anything breaks, etc. That estimate does not include tuning.
