Yes... and the instructions from Perrin even state there will need to be some modifications done to the heat shield.

Does this exhaust drone at all in any rpm??

I need something that won't drone. I don't mind noise when I'm on it but don't need the change to rattle in my car when I'm in lower rpms.

Thanks.

The heat shield in question one has to open up a little is at the connection with the cat pipe. There is one nut on each side, and the crimped portions are not spot welded...so it's easy to spread open. I was able to re-install the nuts, but because the mid pipe flange is larger than the stock flange, I was unable to put the crimped portions bach together. I'm not experiencing any vibration noise though.

The only hard part of the install (doing this on my back in the driveway) was hammering the spot welded nuts off the cat pipe flange.

I haven't noticed any additional droning since installing the Perrin CBE at any rpm. Sure the car is a little louder than stock (nice deep note) and still booms at about 4000 rpm, but that's from the engine itself and not the exhaust.

Anyone know why this has jumped in price in about the last week or so? If you google "perrin stealth exhaust evo x", Vivid Racing still lists it for $746.99 but when you click on the link you find that the price becomes $863.99.

We also find this on the Vivid Racing site:

The Perrin cat-back is a simple bolt on item, that requires, nothing more than simple hand tools to install. No need to trim the bumper, bend a bracket, or anything. Literally unbolt the OEM system and bolt the PERRIN one in its place.

And this from the Perrin site itself:

Our cat-back is a simple bolt on item, that requires, nothing more than simple hand tools to install. No need to trim the bumper, bend a bracket, or anything. Literally unbolt the OEM system and bolt the PERRIN one in its place.

How nice it must be for them to advertise so misleadingly. They're CERTAINLY not the only ones that do it though. Inflated hp numbers you'll expect to see have become a pet peeve of mine for sure. Even if I'm looking someone in the face and he tells me I can expect this or that hp or torque increase, I'll halve it in my head. PM me if you want to know which shops in the midwest do it REGULARLY.

It is definitely louder than stock, but not intrusively so...especially when highway cruising around 3,000 RPM. The stealth look and sound was what attracted me...more power without unwanted attention, win-win for me
4 WHP? Perrin said it'd have been more like 20 midrange and 10 peak didn't they? Wow. Are you satisfied with it though?

Perrin provided those numbers with a flash and I wouldnt doubt if there were more upgrades included. Did that 4 hp include an intake? With intake and exhaust it would be more than 4 easily.

Prices went up April 1, but Perrin has a coupon "FNF412" that gives you 12% off of their site's prices. I ordered my stealth CBE last night for around $730.

Here is sound clip of mine even though I will say that you tube pics really do not do it justice. I have gotten good solid perfromance out of the exhaust power wise. I will say it strongest point is its sound and fitment. The weakest thing about it is its not as good looking as I would like it to be. Its not bad looking, but the the tips have nothing special about them that make you think wow that looks good.

i kinda regret not buying the stealth black cbe from perrin. my tips are always black from the smoke so i should've made it easier on myself and had the whole thing black so it looks stealthier.
