5 qts of Royal Purlple and K&N filter for 39.99 At O'Reilys Auto.

for $80, as some people pay for an oil change, you can get oil, filter and some jackstands to start doing it yourself! it takes less than an hour, and Its your Evo! make sure its done right.

I took it back, and they said they'd take care of it at no extra charge. Also re-aligned the car for free (under the 12-month warranty) and rotated the tires, which they had said the day before that it didn't need.

So, either they realize that they really screwed up and did what they could to make it right, or they screwed me again on the oil change.

From my interactions with them, I'm inclined to beleive that they did it right this time.

I just noticed last night where the engine cover has a sticker on it that says Mobil1 Synthetic Factory Fill; Full Synthetic Oil ONLY.

I have the "free lifetime oil change" booklet that was included in my car sale. They didnt just give it to me, I had to twist their arm into including it. I have only 2000 miles on my car now, but I plan on bringing my own synthetic oil. The dealer will provide the filter and service for free..

Just my two cents and a quote from the technical manual:

"Do not use conventional petroleum based motor oil.
Using conventional motor oil may cause engine or tur-
bocharger damage.
• Do not used "blends" of conventional oil and synthetic
oil."
