Experience with Works Stage 2 clutch?
Moderator, a copy of this thread was created in the Evo IX section as well for their overall feedback of this clutch on Evo IX's. If you feel this is to redundant, please feel free to combine them or whatever. I am trying to get a feel for the clutch itself, as even Evo IX experience will somewhat relate to Evo X's.
Hey guys,
I am looking for the best streetable clutch to handle 400-450lbs at the wheels. While I have no plans to upgrade the turbo yet...it will be coming in a year or two so I would like to buy one clutch now, instead of two later.
Here are my clutch goals:
Mostly Daily driven ~99.9% of time
400-450 hp to wheels
10-15 1/4 mile passes a year max
Invisible to dealer (pedal pressure)
moderate slipability (easy to launch)
no high RPM lockout (full disengagement regardless of rpm)
no chatter.
quiet.
easy on Master clutch cylinder.
Bonus : smaller engagement window with lower engagment point.
I was contacted by the WORKS engineer and he stated that thic clutch would meet all of my goals.
Now my question for you guys, what is your experience with this clutch? Being kevlar, has anyone roasted one to death? how is high rpm shifting? any clutch draging issues? Is it quiet? has one exploded or caused tranny damage?
I am looking for all the info I can get to make an informed decision.
Thank you for your time!
