Oh wait that must be the 400 mi. SES light that comes on when you need a turbo kit. Just buy an AMS turbo kit and the Check engine light will turn off.

Haha...you guys are bastards. Dude, just check your fuel cap. If it's not the fuel cap, the only thing you can do is bring it to the dealer to see what it is. Since it's new, I'm sure whatever it is should be covered under the warranty.

asu is right. Make sure your fuel cap is on tight and "clicks" a couple of times. On the fuel cap it states you may get a light if you do not do this. I got a check enginge light because I did not click the fuel cap all the way. My dealership charges $ if the diagnostics says its the fuel cap. (this part will not be covered by warrenty)

I would straight back to the dealer. I wouldn't even think of posting it here unless you put a manual boost controller in it and got the cel that way.

i would run it up to autozone or advanced and have them pull the code before you bring it back to the dealer. if it is an evap code there is no point in calling the dealer and making an appointment.

but if it is anything other than the evap code then yes... enter dealership and ***** a fit.

these guys are right for the most part. If its one 100 % stock and the gas cap is tight.... You only thinking should be how fast can i take it back to the dealership. They are not going to be happy to see you, but screw them.. its their job. Don't be a *****, but don't be a pansie either. if you aren't satisfied with what the service writer tells you, ask for the service manager. Owning an evo, you should know the service manager anyways, chances are you are going to know him well.

don't take this as me complaining. This is a first year produstion of this vehicle, one cannot expect everything to work perfectly. there will be problems, that's why there is a warranty. i myself have had several problems. At under 2k miles I had the ECU wiring harness go bad, that was a 10 day troubleshoot and fix problem. At 7k miles i had moderate engine noise, I complained several times and was finally told that until the motor fails, MMNA won't fix anythign. Same problem at 11k miles, new service writer and the car was fixed in a week, turned out to be two bad tappet valves. There have been some other minor issues, but all issues were corrected by the dealership, even when it took some serious "coaxing" on my part.

Moral is... take it to the dealership
