Boost problem or gauge problem?

Hey guys. Just installed a VDO Boost gauge, ran the plastic tubing to a t fitting at the bypass valve. Everything kinda went smooth. But after all said and done at wot it only reads about 18psi. I have cobb ap stg 1 as well. I thought it was suppose to be in the twenties. Correct me if im wrong. does this sound right?

There is alot of room for error with that platic tubing. Look for kinks or a bad connection to the gauge. I dont think I will every get a non electric gauge again.
