Buschur Shifter bushings

Hey all, i just got these as a birthday present and i was wondering if/what the real difference is between the Buschur metal style bushings and the ones from Works that are a composite blend material or something like that. Curious if you guys have has experiences with either and which one is better. Also, what makes the bigger difference in shifter feel the under the hood bushings or the console bushings? Thanks.

First of all your need AMS under hood bushings. Shifter bushings don't make a lot of difference with the stock.

Shoudl have mentioned i have the works short throw. And as i said i got the buschur shifter bushings, for under the hood. Anyone installed these and noticed a big difference? And what is the main difference between these and the ones from works, that are apparently made of something other than metal?

I'm wondering if those delrin underhood bushings fit a little better also. I'm not at all satisfied with the fitment of my AMS bushings. On my SRT, I had booger bushings made out of polyurethane, and they were the sh*t. I hope they feel as tight as booger's set.

Ha, I actually have the WORKS bushings installed and I bought a set of the Buschur aluminum bushings a while back to do a comparo. But now after 6,000 mi with the WORKS installed, I really have no interest in swapping them out. In fact, reading this thread reminds me I still need to put my Buschur kit up for sale.

And FWIW, the Buschur pieces are solid aluminum probably because they're easier to manufacture that way, compared to the WORKS approach of using urethane. And I'm not bashing. Like I said, I own both. The apparent advantage of using a urethane bushing is the ability to dampen vibrations and shock, which will be easier on your synchros than a solid metal bushing.

But honestly, I've yet to hear of anyone having a problem with either bushing. In the end if you like the idea of the urethane being better for the longevity of your synchros go with the WORKS. Otherwise, the Buschur or AMS (also solid metal) bushing will work fine.

well i have the buschur ones. What I am also wondering is how much of a difference these make compared to the console bushings. Meaning which one makes the shifter feel tighter. Thanks for the response and you should consider doing the comparo! I know a lot of people would probably love to see the difference.

Well I have the Buschur underhood bushings.. but also the works console bushings and works shortshifter kit. I installed them all together so I can't really help with a individual opinion on just the underhood bushings. I will say that The buschur underhood bushings are a nice product and easy to install and that after the install of everything the shifter feel is way better I think! more crisp and positive feel Im happy with them so far.
