Question Opinions and Suggestions for This Setup...

On an Evo X GSR:

*Apexi RS Evolution Catback Exhaust System
*AMS Widemouth Downpipe
*Greddy RS BOV
*ETS Stage 1 System

Any suggestions or comments about this setup... maybe switch something out for something you think has better performance? Thanks!

I recommend tot he Apexi Exhaust and Apexis Downpipe. Its a nice combo and its super quiet. I've been pulled over multiple times in SoCal and never gotten a ticket for exhaust or state ref.

As for the BOV, I don't know.

And for ETS STAGE 1... not quite sure what it includes, BUT GO FOR IT!!! They make awesome products as is, so I wouldn't be disappointed.

I would include getting a tune done @ HB SPEED, most BANG FOR YOU BUCK!!!!

So... I've been thinking and researching and this is my new setup idea:

*Apexi RS Evolution Catback Exhaust System (Already own, not installed yet)
*AMS 3" Widemouth Downpipe
*AMS 3" Testpipe
*AMS Cold Air Intake System
*AMS Upper and Lower Intercooler Piping

One question... regarding the test pipe I read this http://www.amsperformance.com/cart/A...mance.com.html And it talks about Federal and State laws... is this part illegal in CA?

get the AMS test pipe...and then get the mil.spec 100 cell HFC welded on the test pipe....keeps you legal and same performance as a test pipe.

High flow cats are illegal as well. It's just not as obvious as a test pipe, and it still reduces emisisons.

Why all AMS parts? There are many other manufacturers out there. Certain items can be purchased from just about any manufacturer. For example, upper and lower intercooler pipes. At this point, it's fair to say many of them are just about the same. It's down to 1 piece or 2, colors, aluminum or stainless?

i just figured i might be able to strike a deal if i got all ams but if thats not the case i probably will branch out... for example, i am thinking about getting the perrin downpipe w/cat so then i can avoid buying two parts... the ams downpipe and the ams hfc... as far as being legal goes... screw it, im going ***** to the floor! any feedback on perrin parts? or suggest a good company that sells a downpipe w/cat?

I doubt you'll get any break from AMS. Not even us locals get a discount picking up the parts. Here is where you can get the 100 cell race cat
