Question Injen CAI

Just wanted to ask all the owners that have the Injen intake for the X. Do you recomend it? Built quality and fittment issues? Thanks for input.

I have had injen intakes on previous cars. Build quality and fitment are always top notch. I believe their evo x model also comes with a UICP but I might be wrong.

I used to have an Injen CAI on my Mazda6, it worked amazing. Great build quality, top notch customer support and it even came with a bunch of dyno sheets and some documentation. What I will warn you is that since it is soooooo low, watch for high water. I once had a little bit of water go up the intake and stall my car. Didn't want to run until 2hrs later, a tank full of injector cleaner. (A new MAF sensor was needed like 2 months after, the tip was all messed up probably from the water, not sure)

I didn't vote on the poll since I don't have it on my X MR, but I'd vote a NO for CAI in general. Don't really want to run that risk again.

I'd be interested too. Specifically, what does it sound like during the onset of boost? I had a CAI on my STi. Sounded like a shop vac while going into boost.

Thanks for your input. (So far) I think that a little more testimonials would be nice like form ilivetowin and others that have the Evo x intake.

Injen CAI-injen.jpgi had it on a few of my previous cars including an evo 8 and i always loved their products for a lot of reasons. i have it on my x righyt now and i have to saw it is great, although someone said it sounds like a shop vac which at times it is true but i lived with it. here is a pic so you can see the fitment. oh and it does not sit low in case you are worried about water injestion.

I'm no engineer, but that looks to me like a short ram intake with a shield.

xXEVOloverXx that is great news. I needed a little more good news about this specific piece and I got it. BTW it looks great in black in my opinion. I got the polished one but that looks good too. Just a quick question does it sound good and can you feel the gain? and thanks again.

I had a good experience with Injen Intake parts in my EVO X, you could hear the turbo and the BOV really nicely but when you tune the evo x its when the injen starts working, producing more Horse Power on the EVO X ,,and its worth every penny
