who knows the reason for reverse problems?

But, it sounds as if the OP has more serious problems, his car is a salvage, no telling what's screwed up inside the g'box.

Its not a big issue with my X, but thanx for the tip I will def. have to try it out when I'm having issues.

If your car won't go into reverse at all, click here. This helped me A LOT.
