Boost pill - yes or no?
i couldn't get an exact answer to this, so i hope someone can help. with the boost pill, it can increase your max boost. but i've also seen in threads people that run without the boost pill and they get the same or similar result. so is there a point in the boost pill if it's going to get tuned? since i already have it sitting on my desk, should i use it regardless when i get my tune done?

Bumping the dead, but I;ve one question;; I'm going to run Cobb's ots stage 1 map for a while until i get the required parts. Will I have to remove the boost pill on the stage 1 mapping? I'm still unsure about this. If anyone can chime in, I'd appreciate it. Thanks!
Hardware Requirements: Otherwise stock vehicle with a STOCK INTAKE
SYSTEM and STOCK INTAKE FILTER ONLY. The addition of any other
hardware may make the vehicle perform poorly.

Stage 1, pill in. Stage 2, pill out. Why are you unsure? It's very clear.
On the Evo X the pill in question (there are 3) limits the amount of air that can be bled from the wastegate actuator through the two solenoids. Recall that bleeding air raises boost.

Here's how Cobb shows pill removal on a X:

The 3000GT VR-4 had a similar setup, and removal of the factory pill raises boost on both cars.

Pills are found on most factory boost control systems for internal wastegates, across different manufacturers.
On the Subarus, there is only one pill and it comes off the compressor housing (Evo X has an equivalent pill). This factory pill limits the amount of air supplied to the wastegate. When you remove this pill, your boost goes down. Recall that supplying air to a wastegate actuator lowers boost, but no lower than the spring pressure allows.
