tranny reliability

I have an 08 gsr and what kind of already worries me is after a couple hard runs, when in first gear there is a kind of light quick clanking sound when shifting from first to second. i have a hks drop in filter and ready to get it tuned in a couple days but i want to get the opinions from more experienced evo guys cuz this is my first one. with a drop in filter and tune i am not putting too much stress or pressure on my tranny am i? i mean i need this car to be reliable and last me at least 100,000 miles. i probably wont add anything but that drop in filter and tune so with that and a tune to bump up the boost im not putting my tranny or block at risk am i? also, i have read the posts abut the grinding in the gearbox and i am experiencing that too in most of my gears, is that anything to be worried about? thanks.

Drop in filter with a tune is not going to cause catastrophic failure to your tranny or engine. What I will tell you though is to make sure you are pushing the clutch all of the way before you shift gears, and then see if your tranny is still grinding.

fro mwhat i hear at the local car club meets. the two words in the title don't go together. I am involved in a mini project/program of upgrading the specs of the car at the time of purchase but I am getting the warning flags to include a clutch upgrade in there. lol even the Mitsu tech snicker when the topic comes up
