I've also heard of people complaing about the SSQV. It's impossible for it to leak, since boost pressure actually holds the valve closed. The only time I've heard of it breaking is when people have run it on their car for many years and it just simply wore out.

There also may have been some people out there who bought a knock off SSQV and when they didn't like it, they said "My HKS SSQV broke/leaks/is a terrible valve!!", leading others to believe that it was an authentic HKS BOV.

I can only go off personal experience, and with the mods in my sig and the HKS SSQV vented to the atmosphere, I've had zero problems for around 8-9 months now.

 

when you go vta does it still make a fluttering sound? coz i have my ssqv recirculated and everytime i shift it does make the fluttering sound and when wot or above 3000 rpm then let go of the gas it also make that sound feels like going in the intake...im new to this kind of stuff. is this normal? no cel or any stalling though.

 

Yes it does make the fluttering sound a little when it's VTA. Not all the time, usually just at part throttle. I think that's the nature of the SSQV. It doesn't sound like compressor surge, it sounds like it's actually the valve itself fluttering.

 

ya its supposed to sound like flutter dump, youtube it if u dont kno what flutter dump sounds like, sounds rediculously cool.

hmm so im thinking the car has no problems wit a bov, considering everyone with one thats saying they had no problems sounds more convincing then the people who Claim they had a problem but wont describe the problems?
