Garret Bolt ons

Hey,

Just wondering if anyone has installed either of the bolt on turbo's that garret has recently released and got any figures, videos etc..

Also it says its a direct bolt on.. meaning that nothing else is required to be replaced? except a ecu tune correct?

Cheers for the help guys

I'll mention it before someone else does, get familiar with the search function or at least scan down the topics on the first page.

I've got a GT3076R turbo sitting on my kitchen table, makes a great center piece! It's a direct bolt on but supporting mods are needed to make full use of it. You could likely do a minimal setup but would have to limit boost and flow improvement mods to make sure you don't outrun the fuel supply:

Minimum:
Catback Exhaust
Intake (Drop in or Cone)
Tune with boost @ 19-20 PSI (Still not even sure if it would be safe)

Recommended:
800-1000 cc injectors
255-280 LPH Fuel pump
Intake
Upper & Lower IC Pipes
Front Mount Intercooler
Tubular Headers or Ported Exahust Manifold
02 Downpipe
Test pipe/high flow cat
Catback Exhaust
Pump Gas Tune with boost @ 24-26 PSI
Clutch (stocker will be hurtin!)

Bonus:
Cams
Intake Manifold
Water/Meth Injection
Race Gas Tune with boost @ 29-30 PSI
Headwork
Built engine

I'm gathering some remaining supporting mods over the next 2-3 weeks and will have installation results with Dyno numbers early June. Hopefully someone will have numbers sooner than that though!

Most non-bolt on turbo kits include a tubular manifold so they can position the turbo where they want it. It's also a decent way to get another 15-20 whp and if you want to get comparable results you may as well replace it while swapping the turbo. It's definately not required and a little portwork on the stock exhaust manifold could be another option. As much as I love working on these cars, I hate tearing into the same area of the car more than once if it can be avoided.

Where did you purchase this from? Was it a specific seller? I'd like to get one myself

I completely agree...and have a similar setup. Red items above I think are going to make a VERY fast street car. I think the only two pieces I'm being "cheap" about right now are the clutch and fuel pump. I'm doing a very conservative tune out of the gate because there just isn't any data on what this turbo will do.

When I say "cheap" with the fuel pump...I mean it's hard to pay $400 (UR Kit) for an item that should only be $100. I'm kinda waiting to see what becomes available...but if I run out of fuel on the dyno...I'll have to bite the bullet.

My install and tune are scheduled for May 22nd...so I'm sure my tuner will post the results in the Tuning section once we're done.

Items in blue are for later when the car is a track only beast .
