Best exhaust for the money?

I had asked this on the exhaust thread, but thought i'd just make one. What's the best bang for the buck for exhaust? Anyone tried Megan's? I had one on my IX and I liked it. I don't see the big difference between them anyway... a few hp at most I would think. I certainly am not going to spend over a grand on an exhaust that won't make much more if any more power than a cheaper one.

Stock. Get a tune with the money. Other than that, pick it for looks and sound.

Well I have a tune (an AP stage 1) but i'd like to go to stage 2 and supposedly you need an exhaust for that.

My favorite is AMS, but a lot of it is just personal preference.

The widemouth downpipe from AMS is nice for performance though. I'm going to get the AMS turboback with a cat and dual tip once I can get the money together.

Alright if you're planning to get a tune then it's a different ballgame. It's hard to know what advice to give since you don't have your mods in your signature.

If you are looking for just straight up "most gains" for the $$$ I can't help you, but if you have some conditions, twin tip vs single tip, resonator pipe, testpipe vs hfc, tbe vs cbe, etc... Then you "might" get more help. But fair warning there are a lot of these threads already.

Honestly... the best exhaust for the money is probably a custom one fabbed up by a local shop.

The quality won't be as good, but it will certainly be cheaper.

If your looking to save, a custom fab 3" tbe or catback will perform just as well as branded type.

+1. This looks like the setup for me. Definitely the AMS dual exit catback and perhaps an o2 dump downpipe.
