Jerking above 5k RPM after UICP Install?

I am no stranger to the car hesitating above 5k under wot which I already heard might be able to be resolved with a flash at the dealer. That wasn't a major concern at the moment since I don't punch it regularly. I installed the Nisei 2pc type B UICP tonight and took the car out, I believe there is a leak since I hear a whistle above 4k RPM audible over the turbo spooling sound but when I pass 5k RPM the car began to jerk instead of the hesitating it would do before. Does anyone know the reason for this? Also, is it common not to hear the factory bov anymore under full throttle? I still hear it when I'm shifting outside of WOT but not when I'm shifting while getting on it. Any help would be appreciated.

Sounds like a major boost leak. The fact that you can already hear it above 4k seems to indicate that. If this is the case, you're getting the jerking because you're leaking so much air, that the A/F is beyond rich and causing the jerking. Just a guess.

i take it you don't have a boost gauge?

Thanks for the info guys, I found the problem today, a couple of clamps were in fact causing a leak so after a trip to buy better tools I got the problem fixed.
