ERL is the company that sleeves the blocks for AMS built motors, there kits power some of the highest horsepower mussel cars out there. Like Murlo said I am building my motor right now using this kit with an FP Black and E85 and I have no worries it will hold the abuse I am fixing to throw at it.

If you want a kit call their number and ask for Sean or Seth and tell them Hollywood sent you and they will hook you up.

That sucker actually looks very nice but holy rusted metal batman a 97mm stroke...woooooo baby. For now I'll stick with my JUN kit, but had this been availble back in the day damn I might be rolling witha 2.5 rather than a 2.3.

I'm going back and forth about whether to do a stroker with my build. I like a high revving engine, and a stroker will limit that, but on the other hand, I also really like to keep a stock frame turbo, and that might be the limitation on revving higher anyway (they'll likely be out of breath by 7,000RPM. Looking for a good comprimise setup for street/strip/time attack.

I will definitely do a 90mm bore, so it'll be 2.18L minimum, but the thought of a 2.5L is so tempting. Any thoughts on reliability of a 4B11 STROKER (I know Drag has an opinion on this)? Any thoughts on FP Red / FP Black with a stroker vs. a higher revving built motor with an FP? Is there any point to trying to rev a small turbo (to 9,000RPM)? Thanks.

Wait for Hollywood's and my Fpblack build results traction, should give you an idea.

I am doing a high rev situation vs his stroker.

Yeah, I'm definitely waiting since FP hasn't given me a choice . I tried to be the first with the Red and it cost me when I had to switch parts around or upgrade my upgrades. I'm going to try to plan the next round out a little better. So do you think you're going to be able to rev the Black more than the Red? I know once the Red is out of breath, torque falls off quick regardless of how much psi you can hold. If your Black can keep the party going above 8K RPM, I might just stick with the stock crank too.

I plan to take it up to 9k, maybe more....honestly at 7600rpm for my previous setup it was still climbing at redline, maybe you are revving higher.

I'm pretty much at peak power at 6600 and it flat lines to 7800 redline. I originally wanted to rev it to 8500, but the way torque falls off there was no reason to.

Yeah here soon I will have a thread started, just want to run more #'s and pick up some remaining parts. Seems like every time I get peanut butter I need more jelly so each little part here and there needs upgraded.

Hey hollywood, I know what you mean about needing more jelly. I've already replaced the same part 3 times because I 'outgrew' it. Waiting for you to tell me exactly how much PB&J I need . Damn, October 1st seems like ages from now though. PS why didn't you get it bored to a 2.5?? Because you're going to let me be the first 2.5L FP black car, right? Haha ----- edit: also just saw you're sticking to 28psi. Any reason for not letting it rip?
