AMS Intake Options?
AMS Intake Options?
So I am very close to purchasing the AMS Performance Intake and have a question about the breather hoses option.
What is the advantage of using an oil catch can instead of jsut routing the breather hoses back to the intake? Anyone have either setup?

The PCV connection essentially evacuates excess pressure that is built up in the crank case. For the most part it is just air but a mist of oil also comes with it and in turn when routed back into the intake gets a little bit of oil into your turbo and intercooler piping. The benefit of using a catch can is that the can catches all of the oil before it gets into your intake.
Another possibility is to just get the intake with bungs and run a catch can inline with the pcv line.. That would be the best setup if you have the room for it.

Ohh ok maybe I'll just get the intake with the bungs for now and do like you said and just put a catch can inline later when I get new piping and FMIC from you all as well.
Thanks for the info!

Here is a picture of how I have mine set up. I'm using the PERRIN oil catch can, and I have it mounted behind the AMS Intake. It comes with a 90 degree mounting bracket which I used a vice to bend so that the catch can would clear the strut bar. It is connected as described above.
