Any mods to the car? If you haven't gotten a tune yet, could just be you getting into boost and running pig rich. If it's stock, get used to having others telling you your car is smoking bad.

it obviously shouldn't be doing that if it's completely stock, take it into the dealership to get looked at

Both mine, and my coworker have the X, it will smoke when you get on it. Other ones in town do the same, unless they are leaned out from a tune.

You can take your car to the dealership if you want, but in this scenerio I think it's a waste of time.

sad thing is i did 3 different times..and 3 times they couldn't figure it out but found other things that were wrong...i bought the car used with 11k and they definitely didn't check it at all before selling it...but that's a different issue that was already addressed

Is there anyway to get a video while she is following you? Now that there is more to the story, it could be different things....

Take it to a dyno and see what the a/f is.... some shops have dyno days where it costs next to nothing for a baseline run.

This has been gone over so many times. The cars run very rich from the factory and the black smoke is normal.

Welcome to the 4B11.

Even with a tune, you'll still experience this, in particular if you run w/o a cat.

+ 1... Same situation on my car... Even with a nice tune I am still smoking black big time especially when I downshift and then nail it or above 4000 rpm.

It's still kanda suck... Anybody have a clue why it keep doing that even with good AFR's.
