+2 for the TWM. They usually have great deals on their website with student, military discounts...

I have the TWM and the base bushings, and I'm very satisfied.
cant you take out the cage assembly before cutting the retaining clips ?
or is it better/faster to leave it bolted in ? i would think if your going to install base bushings then you would uninstall the cage cut outside the car and re-install

You don't need to remove the cage in either case.

TWM Performance for me too. I didn't do the bushings, and I don't think they are necessary.

From my research, you have 2 choices:
Adjustable
Non-Adjustable

Adjustable - You can change the feel. It could also move on you or come apart. Not to mention that you need to take things back apart to adjust.

Non-Adjustable - Solid chunk of steel that isn't going anywhere.

Thats all there really is to decide from, as installation is the same for them all.

Thanks for the great feedback guys!

We always recommend to use a dremel tool with a rotary cutting disk to remove the push clip because it's a lot faster than just using a flat head screwdriver to pry it out. Since we include replacement clips with the short shifter, it's not a problem to cut it!

Also, you don't need to remove the complete shifter assembly from the car to do the install. It's all pictured in our installation manual, the only thing I would do if I was installing the short shifter in my personal car would be to cut the part of the carpet that's in the way to get to the bottom bushings.

Is the Works shifter the same height as stock? I dont want to have my shifter any lower than it already is. I see that the TWM is lower.

There is a 1.25 inch height reduction with our EvoX shifter however, what alot of people do is simply buy one of our height adjustable shift knobs and adjust it to the highest setting. You will get the stock shifter height back. Just thought I would throw the idea out there

Why do people want the stock height? Try the lower height and see if you like it. Trust me, it is nice. TWM didn't make their shifter jog to the left and 1.25" shorter for no reason.

It depends on people personal liking. Most of our customers who wants a the benefits of shorter throws with something close to stock height end up ordering the short shifter and a height adjustable shift knob.
