Hard to tell. 1, 2, and 3 were the worst. 4 & 5 seemed fine but still just a touch sticky. Reverse also tough.
I have no doubt in my mind that the clutch was draging a little bit. From the very first mile I put on the car I could feel the car move a few inches as I push the shifter from N to 1st.
Go back and search from threads from me, I was talking about this over a year ago. I waited patiently to see if I was wrong, changed fluids, and still no go.
Do I think the clutch is the only problem, I don't know! But I decided enough is enough. Please don't get me wrong, the car was very driveable and not THAT bad to shift...It was simply an annoyance I didn't feel like living with anymore on a daily basis. My hats off to some of you guys that only track your car, or are understanding of shifting action like ours. I don't like it, I LOVE the car, so I decided to Fix it
....hopefully

I am however NOT...I repeat NOT, looking forward to the reinstall of the tranny, Makes me miss my DSM
I wonder, could it be a difference on the marcel depending on where on the disc your hitting?
Perhaps theres more on the outer edge and that causes it to come into contact with the flywheel first, but with less pressure, thereby glazing it?
No idea, im trying to learn =)

New Trans
I work at Automax Mitsu, have 7k miles on the car and one of the pins that the spider gear rides on in the front diff had walked out and cut a groove in the trans case until it cut all the way through causing an oil leak, mitsu finally decided to give me a new trans, and shipped the old unit to japan, but after the new trans installed, with the old clutch still in the car, the notchy feeling i felt with the old trans is completly gone, every gear down shifting or up shifting, any rpm, any temperature, is always smooth. I'll keep an eye on it if any notchyness returns as the miles rack up.
Shep is building an X trans for me too, but I'm not really in a hurry yet, since my stock one is working again. I'm doing a taller final drive too, so that will take a while...
