OP: there ya go ^^^. instead of spending $700 on an accessport, if you have a good tuner in your area, get an OpenSource/ECUFlash tune. the tuner in my area does OpenSource tunes for $500, and you don't have to buy an AccessPort.

$500 for a free software tune, ouch. Especially when it will probably be a base map from a previous tune he has done that he alters in an hour, lol. Steep unless you get free retunes.

But I would get a tune if I were you OP, you will not regret it. AMS intake is solid, you won't be disappointed, but there are other good ones too. If you want to hear the BOV the open filter element like AMS will be more noticeable than that of the AEM box style.

With AP you can switch on your own. If you get OS from us we flash back to stock for you at no charge and then we can reload your tuned map

On an otherwise 100% STOCK car (no MBC, no exhaust, nothing), our intake gained 42lb/ft of torque @ 4000rpm and 20whp @ 5700rpm. When combined with the Harman Motive UICP (upper intercooler pipe) and turboback exhaust system w/ MBC, gains of 60+ WHP are available.

Our intake pipe goes from the filter all the way to the turbo replacing the restrictive stock rubber piece. Unlike many aftermarket intakes, our pipe is a single mandrel bent piece with no welding for the smoothest possible flow and clean looks.

The Harman Motive Evo X Intake System completely relocates the BPV (bypass valve) to the front of the engine bay. This allows a much smoother path for the return and eliminates the long factory BPV hose. The end result is better performance, less turbulence, and better looks.

Our intake includes the breather and boost solenoid bungs at no additional cost for the cleanest and most effective install.

We are also offering free shipping & always local pick up for the summer.
Intake System now available in Mirror Polish & Black Crinkle Coated.

well it would be a custom tune, by EFI Logics in CT. i would rather pay $500 for a custom tune rather than $700 for an AccessPort and then pay another $300 for a tune.

a turboback exhaust is what really opens up the car. if you're not looking to do an exhaust, i guess all you can do is get an intake, upper intercooler pipe, and a tune. that will give you a nice boost in power and it will still be quiet.

do you think that will take to around 300hp and tq? i wanted an exhaust, but my parent just doesn't allow me to get one. my pervius car has a tanabe exhaust which was pretty quiet already, but they still complain about all the time...so yeah...
btw, will boost controler helps? i was looking at the AMS one, and they clam that the boost controler with an intake will gain about 60 hp, so should i get one?

Be careful with the AEM intake if you're getting any type of tune that isn't made specifically for that intake. It routes air past the MAF sensor, which will cause the car to run more lean than the tune intended. If you buy a out-of-the-box tune that's already pretty lean on a stock car, the AEM might cause some major problems!

Safest things to do is find a local tuner and let them do it. Even if you 'pay them $500 for an hours work', at least you know you're getting something catered to you.

well it depends what dyno you run on. To get 350 whp on one dyno takes a few mods, and then to achieve the same numbers on a different dyno takes more mods. For what its worth, im running a AGP CAI, UICP, MBC set to about 21 psi, Xtremeboost DP, and resonated test pipe with the stock cat back. when i had my straight pipes on i was running 349 whp and 305 wtq (un tuned mind you) so with a tune prolly a few more hp, but more torque for certain. I say to start off, buy an Intake ( which will lean out the car and add some power) and if your feeling adventurous, you can get MBC (just dont crank up the boost to much) which should net you good gains. Do that for a while, get used to the car, then add an exhaust. and then tune, hope that helps

^^^ that helped alot! thanks man! as i said im very new to the car and stuff, haha!
right now i only have UICP and intake in mind, which is Harman intake or AMS cold air intake. for the UICP, i don't know which one to get, AMS, Harman, UR? they all kinda the same tho, what is the different anyway? which one is the best? also maybe a MBC? which one is good? i was thinking the AMS one, but any suggestion? and for the exhaust, i will not get one since my parent hates that the car is loud already and they will not allow me to have one.
please teach me more! thanks alot!
Nick
