I have the forge rs on my ix and had no problems with it. I actually went to the vta version a few days ago and still haven't gotten any problems. The recirc version is the single piston setup which is supposed to allow air flow while at idle and when you push the throttle the piston will shut to allow it to hold the boost or vacuum. Wen the throttle is released it vents as it should. If you use the recirc single piston as a vta it WILL throw it into limp mode. I've tested it before and worked through the issues. When you go with the dual piston (vta) setup it will stay closed at idle and open up as it should when you lift off the throttle. When you drive at low boost or even -10 to 0 psi it may make the rattle snake noise signifying that the spring tension is high but fear not the valve is still functioning properly. I hope this helps you make a better decision on your bov choices and routes. If you don't have the hardware for the vta option, just contact mike at forge or email the techs and they will get you it for $10 bucks.
