what ever happened?
hmm well according to the thread that was on this mitsu didn't put a tsb but rather a bulletin addressing the issue. they really didnt do anything about it though. my reason for concern was this seemed like a serious issue a couple months ago then it just faded away, without a single concern.
Just changed my oil at 4800 miles. Not really smelling any gas in the oil. But the last flurry of posts had me concerned. I have a sample ready to mail to Blackstone for analysis. I'll post up the results when they come back.

ya that would be cool. i pm'd stitoevox who originally started that thread, and he told me that we shouldn't really worry about it, just change the oil at the recommended 3000 miles and you shouldn't have a problem. it is relatively normal for the ten considering the high boost of the x.
I will be sending in my 5000 mile M1 5w-30 EP & M1 Filter results at 10k miles on the ODO. I been switching oil at 500 miles, then at 5000 miles, and now at 10000 miles.
I'll post the results as well.
hm interesting, would like to see the original thread...fuel dilution is to be expected, usually something under 4% is not a cause for concern. if there is a defect though, just telling everyone to change fuel at 3000 miles is not really a "fix," it's just a band-aid. i'd reckon most modern engines out there regardless of power output should be able to last at least 5000 miles without an oil change.
