Removing transmission
Ello,
I'm currently in the middle of removing the transmission to replace the 3rd gear synchro and was wondering if anyone had any PDFs or diagrams to help pull the transmission out. I've currently gotten everything out of the way to drop it down but the transmission is still being hung up on the clutch fork. I have some useless diagrams that dislpay how to dis-engage that but they haven't been of much help. Any help is greatly appreciated
Thanks

Man, I feel your pain. I JUST did the same thing last night. I ended up removing the clutch fork and leaving the release bearing on the clutch.
I will tell you how it should work for removing this. Remove the rubber boot from the clutch fork and stick a flashlight in there so you can see what you are doing. If you look at the release bearing you will see the casting. Follow the casting towards the clutch assembly, when you get to the vertical surface, this is where you insert a flat head screwdriver, remember to hold the fork in the "A" direction and then insert your screwdriver and twist 90 deg. This should release the bearing from the clutch assembly.
This would have worked for me had I not mutilated the unit trying it my own way....If all else fails, remove the clutch fork shaft. There is an aluminum dust cover that you will need to remove by tapping it into the case. Next, there is a bolt that has to be removed with a 10mm wrench (it's a big pain to remove due to limited space). Once the bolt is removed, look on the opposite side of the transmission, there is a rubber boot that must be removed. After removing the rubber boot you will see the other side of the fork shaft. This is the side you MUST use to drive the shaft out towards the hole that had the aluminum cap.
Good luck and let me know how it worked out.
