To switch or not to switch...that is the question!?

Well I have an AEM intake on my Evo. I have a chance to buy a used AMS short ram intake. I was thinking about switching from the AEM to the AMS because the AEM is too quiet for me plus it doesnt dress up the engine bay too much.

Now the question is. Will my peformance be decreased by switching? I know this requires a retune but I would just like to know if you guys think I should stick with the AEM or switch.

Thanks!

Performance may drop if you switch, the AEM intake alters the boost return lines and does something to up your boost, I forget exactly what it is.. besides, the AEM intake is CARB legal, so you won't get any crap for it, but thats completely up to you.

I would get a retune after the change so my psi should stay the same

and CARB isnt really important here, they dont pay attention to that

I just want to know which intake is better to see if I should switch or not

If you decide to switch I'll pick up your AEM intake if you're selling at a reasonable price!

Ok...AEM doesn't make any other intake for the Evo X to my knowledge.
And if being made out of rubber is your main concern then just buy the nisen intake pipe, they even have a how to on what you need to modify to make it all work

they install bigger solenoid vent lines, but the maf housing is substantially bigger than stock.
