Transmission issue-not the grinding

I was driving to a friends house and I stopped at a stop light and my clutch went to the floor. It was stuck to the floor I had to stick my foot under the petal and pull it back but but then there was no tension. The clutch goes right back to the ground every time and wont go into any gears when the car is on. I have no mods on the car,, but i purchased it used. Anyone heard of this before?

Thanks
Dustin

Makes me kinda sad cuz ive had it for 2 weeks and traded in my STI for it....

Your clutch master cylinder is gone...its a common problem. They'res a few companies like DGmotors that make a stronger replacement. Or you can do what I did, buy a new stock replacement and use this...

No this won’t add power but if you keep going back to the stock part it's going to keep braking under hard driving. This is my first import car I have owned and I am in shock as to how people can say imports are better than domestic... I brought my 02 Trans Am up to 400whp from the stock 315whp with only 20miles on the OD (right from the show room to the performance shop) and it now has over 100,000miles and has only ever needed tires and oil changes... still on the OEM clutch!

I like my Evo and all but when its time comes; it’s being sold and not added to the stable like I normally do.

Im goign to get it, but I wish my money could co somewhere else where I would see a performance increase instead of spending money to make the car run reliably since it has a design flaw....

Actually I rarely hear of the M.C. breaking on a stock clutch. It usually breaks under the added pressure of a HD pressure plate, which is part of clutch upgrades. Which you can complain about, but not much, since it performs as designed at stock trim.

Since you purchased this car used, I suggest the following. If you are certain the car is completely stock (incl. clutch), then go to dealership and get it replaced under warranty unless more than 36k miles.

If the person who owned it before you did a clutch upgrade, it is probable that this car was heavily modded. Then the question is why did they strip it stock appearing and sold it?

The exhaust bolts were consistant throughout the car and the didnt look touched so I think its always been stock

your one of the lucky ones then. My little brother has an 02 Trans am and has had several issues out of it already. IMO Japanese cars are better in every way possible... the only reason domestics are making more power and are getting better is because of using their technology.

The clutch master cylinder just went out again in my car....

Is there a reason this keeps happening to me? My friends have Evo Xs and they havent had any issues. Can you drive a certain way to have more stress on it?

Thanks

Im on stock clutch

Is this your first awd car? It sure seems strange with a stock clutch. You should ask that question to the dealership, which is doing the warranty work. Or did you pay the first one yourself? If so why if it is stock?

If you are replacing with stock again, you should at least get the ams ring. Though I heard it doesn't really work. Or go with the before mentioned options. Good luck.

I am still running my stock master cylinder with no issues.I have had the mods in my signature since 8K miles. I replaced the stock clutch at 14k and now I am at 22K.I would like to thank my Exedy Twin for this.
