how much difference is the OEM fuel filter to aftermarket filter?

currently I want to change my fuel pump, but I can't use the original fuel filter if I change to walbro fuel pump, the installer told me they will use another aftermarket filter, so I wonder how effective it is.

How many KM should we change our fuel filter and how much it cost for a original filter.
