Maintence required light on!

Well my car got stuck in snow today and i was trying to get out, and when i was trying to get out my maintence required light turned on and the tarmac, gravel, and snow settings disappeared. I restarted the car and it disappeared, i got kind of scared when i saw that happen, does anyone know what the problem will be?

Your pump that pumps fluid to your rear differential and transfer case might be burned out. Happened with mine when there was a crazy snow fall here, and -30C degree temperatures. But if the maintenance required light isn't turning on anymore after you restarted your car, it might be okay.

that happened to me once when turning into a steep drive and lifting a wheel off the ground. Re-started the car and it never came back.
