Question Installing short shifter broke pivot ball cup... where to get one?

The pivot ball white plastic cup broke as I was taking it off and I need to order one. I'll call the dealership monday but until then, does anyone know where I could possibly get one, not counting the dealership?

More than likely, you will have to call the dealership to get it.

IIRC, you can't purchase this part separately. You might have to buy a new shifter from the dealer just to get the plastic cup.

When I was looking around for a short shifter, I noticed that some brands come with this cup attached. You can see if they can sell you one.

We sell the plastic pivot cup for the Civic 06+ short shifters that we offer because people always break them. It seems to be the exact same part as the EVO X plastic cup but I will double check here at the shop just to make sure.

We sell the pivot cup alone for $9.95...here is the link:

You'll need to go under Honda and select the 2006+ civic plastic pivot cup. But don't order anything until I confirm that it fits the EVO X shifter I'll get back to you soon!

So i just tried it out on our EvoX short shifter and it seems to work just fine. It fits in perfectly and once you lube it up with some white lithium grease, it pivots great. I think it may be a tad bit more snug fit than OEM, but I seriously doubt that it will make any difference in shift feel.

Let me know if you have any problem ordering!

Thanks,

Patrick

I'm surprised the dealership was able to get only the cup for you, most of them will usually sell the whole shifter assembly to get a plastic cup. Good for you, and glad you enjoy the short shifter!
