FP Red Owners...

I am looking to maybe upgrade my turbo... I have done a lot of research and for the price I am really leaning towards the FP Red. I will not be doing Cams but hope to hit the 400 whp mark. I think with the mods I have now and the Power I made (330whp) upgrading to a Red should be able to get me there.

Here is my main concern... I want to keep my stock warranty and even though it will be a huge PIA to switch back to stock if something goes wrong I will do it. Has any one taken their Evo to the dealership with a FP bolted up and passed it for stock? I just dont want to send in my Stock turbo and upgrade to a red and find out I shoulda kept my stock on hand.

Thanks!

I haven't seen a FP Red so I'm not sure if they use the stock housing?? I don't think a Mitsubishi tech could tell you had a Dom 2 or BB-X unless they took off the inlet pipe.

I have the red and love it. First off though, you will never hit 400 awhp without cams unless you run 93 oct maybe... The heat shield in the x is humongus and the turbo is not visable at all after proper installation. I say go for it and Keep the stocker around in case you need it. That's what I am doing. Besides, It bolts right on. Easy install.

Yeah no cams. I figure I cant take them out as easy as bolt ons. I will be running 93 oct with 800cc dw injectors, turboback exhaust, 3 port bc, IC, IC Pipes, Intakes, Cobb Acc, and i think thats all i have i forget. But with intake, catback exhaust, and the IC, IC Pipes I hit 330 whp. I figure with the gain of o2 housing, downpipe, 3 port bc, injectors, turbo upgrade I should hit that mark.

The FP does use the stock turbo housing correct?

Yes it does although it's modified. You might hit that without cams but cams will definitely get you there. I like mine a lot but am upgrading to GT35R HTA.

F the warranty. You mean to tell me you would go back to stock after putting on all those parts? And tuning? Then once repaired, put everything back on again. That's crazy. Don't you think it would be easier, maybe even cheaper, to just pay the repair bill?

What happens if you do all that, and they still deny your warranty?? Then what??? That's Smith & Wesson time...

I said F it from day 1. You gotta pay to play brotha.

+1

You are kidding yourself if you think you are going to back to stock every time your car goes into the dealer. You will spend more on labor and aggravation and vehicle downtime then you would by simply owning up to the repairs.

Warranties are for stock guys... which is like nobody on this forum!
