Running Too Rich at Idle - TTP HIAG 2400cc Injectors

Problem fixed.

It was scaled with the new accessport idle settigs.

It idles fine on 91 pump gas.

Idles around 1000 - 1100rpm at full stop.

Thanks for all the help.

I'm not to sure about how the Evo X's are with significantly large injectors, but in my DSM days, that was just a drawback of having large injectors was the idle and off boost drivability.

I am not familiar with the Cobb AP, but I assume you scaled the injectors right?

Will the AP not allow you to scale enough? Have you played with dead time settings? what are your cruise trims?

If you cannot get things right with the AP, you could always buy a AFPR and lower your FP....

I don't think that has changed. My tuner said that I could run these on E85 but he wouldn't recommend trying pump.

The injectors are 5 times the size of stock. Since ethanol requires 30% more fuel they should work just fine on ethanol.

As stated in our email to you. You need to get rid of the accessport and tune the car properly using the factory ECU.

I would tend to agree, however, since he already has invested in an AP, doesn't the AP software allow for proper scaling and latency? I would hope so!!

Archi, have you tried contacting Cobb?

Yeah probably need ECUFLASH... to get it to run correctly.

What are your LTFT IDLE look like... you need evoscan to tell you. I bet you are -12.5 and ECU maxed out its ability to lean out the car.

Finally! A tuner going out there and speaking the truth. I was getting tired of people jumping on the EcuTech/Cobb band wagon (and wasting $700 that route). Long live open source tuning!!

The largest injector scaling I can enter on the AP is 1535cc it won't go higher than that.

But open source doesn't have the map swithcing capabilities that I need to switch between 91 and E85.

It does if you have a laptop and a Tactrix cable. A lot of us already have laptops so it's not much of an investment. These days a netbook+Tactrix is actually less than the $700 that you'd pay for an AP. Can't surf the web at a coffee shop on that AP.

You should not be running on 91 octane with a small turbo and 2400cc injectors. 2000cc+ injectors are for E85 use as the injector duty cycles are higher as a higher VOLUME of fuel is needed.

Switching back and forth between fuels will never allow you to have the proper octane in the tank that the car was tuned for. It will always be contaminated from the prior tank or tanks.

I will not be switching back and forth on 91 and E85.

The 91 map is for emergency use only when I run out of E85 gas.
