Will an O2 downpipe make the car louder?

Hey everyone,

I just installed my catback exhaust with a resonated test pipe a couple days ago, and my car's pretty damn loud, haha. I didn't get my downpipe installed cuz it was too much if a ***** to get the stock one off, so I'll try at it some other time. Just wondering if putting on the downpipe will make my car even louder. Thanks everyone.

No. If an o2 downpipe makes the car louder that audible difference wouldn't be enough for you to notice.

From my experience - downpipe makes the car sound different. Louder in terms of deeper but it removes the drone.

It it isnt an O2 dump and downpipe combined then no, you will be fine. If it has the o2 dump feature, then yes your car will be much louder.

Alright, that's good to know, thanks everyone.

With what I have on the car now it seems almost too loud, almost tempted to put the stock cat back in and see how it goes first before putting in my down pipe. It might be kinda stupid to have the down pipe, stock cat and cat back right?

What kind of exhaust you have now? I have T1R with test pipe and I find it too quiet, I got myself o2 dp open dump because of that

I think I might have the exact same setup as you do. I got the T1R 90R catback, with a T1R resonated testpipe, and the T1R o2 downpipe. I saw AJ Pwr's (I think that's his user handle, if I made a mistake, my bad!) video of his setup and it sounded awesome. But when I got mine installed it kinda surprised me how loud it was, cuz I thought it was going to be more quiet. I'm thinking I might have a leak somewhere as well, but seemed to be okay when I was installing it. I'll try to post a sound clip of it sometime this week.

I am thinking of getting a downpipe too. I have a Magnaflow CBE and UR testpipe.

If you get the dual exhaust setup, its pretty quiet for an aftermarket exhaust, which imo, is pretty nice

I think it kind of changes the tone and makes it sound better, it takes away that sorta restrictive noise.

Ah okay I see, heh I liked the look of the single exit better so went with the 90R. I'm kinda starting to think I got a leak somewhere, cuz I kinda gunned it and it said I only hit about 18 lbs of boost. I'll have to check it out sometime this week.
