Why 2.5inch????

Do you think it will restrict power on green/red turbos?

From what I read it is specifically designed for stock and stock based turbo's (upgrades, like blouch, FP etc) and the extension part has quite a large opening

have these instock,
they are extremely well desingned and from the testing HKS did on this it was to show that brutal mid range was able to be made and cause any dramas or restriction up top.

being a full cast piece that would be a very very costly exercise if they did it wrong,

alot of time and money has gone into this it should yield good results

Yup, looks like a very well engineered piece. My guess on the 2.5" is a right-hand drive space limitation. The RHD guys should eat this up.

Works Motorsports already has a cast piece+down pipe that is 3 inch, yes it expensive, but so is the HKS setup. No sure of the point of the HKS piece, but it looks nice.

HKS has been able to reduce the exhaust interference caused by single-port type extension housings by using two separate ports for the turbine impeller and the wastegate actuator. The result is a smoother exhaust flow and a reduction in backpressure enabling consistent and improved turbocharger boost response throughout the RPM range. Manufactured utilizing a lost-wax process ensures durability and reliability.
It pays to read.

AMS might see this and realize they can raise their price.

You are a fool if you pay double for an inferior piece of hardware (HKS vs AMS).

HKS looks better in a signature line.

Not necessarily inferior; they had to design for their market (Japan) which limits size. The divorced wastegate flow is a very good features that the AMS does not have. Plus, for RHD cars, the AMS is not even an option.
