Rear Diff Options?? Any info would be great!

Hey all, I am just about done buying all my parts for my build. When I am finished I expect to be at around 500-570 WHP on Pump, and 600+ WHP on E85..I have never been to the track with my car and don't intend to (maybe one or two times after I am finished with my build) but I want to be able to see anything on the street and race it from a dig when possible. Maybe 1-5 Launches a day (maybe 1-3 launches a week) don't know. But I want to be sure that my Rear end doesn't get destroyed.

Does anyone have any suggestions about who to go with or what to look for and possible pricing to have a stronger rear diff put in the car? I contacted ShepTrans and they are unsure of pricing yet or at least woudn't give me a price yet.

Any thoughts or suggestions (good suggestions) would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Jeff

Gates runs the Cusco 1.5way. I think the Cusco is the strongest offering.

Just from searching I saw a few threads about people blowing out the diff at 400 ish whp....so I think the limit has been found and I would rather just not have to deal with a blown diff....is the cusco good for drag racing or just road racing?

I certainly don't doubt that you are pushing 400 WHP but like I said, I am not looking for any issues down the road. Also, like I said I have seen a couple of people who have blown their rear diff at or around 400-450 ish...so I would say that they found their rear diff's limit.... How often are you launching your car and how well would you say that you can launch your car?

I've heard of them blowing out from wheel hop. A street car isn't likely to catch air for any reason but racing is another story.

No launching yet...still stock clutch. I will start launching when the new one comes though.
