Anybody have experience with SIDE MOTOR MOUNTS or REAR MOTOR MOUNT?

I currently have the AMS 90 duro front motor mount....it works great and I love it....but I'm thinking of taking it a step further....I haven't seen many posts on side or rear motor mounts for the evo x....I am wondering if they are even worth while to change them out?

For those of you who have done it, how hard is it to install the trans mount and the rear mount? I've taken a look at the passenger side mount, and it doesn't seem hard at all...its just the rear and the trans mount that look difficult

It seems like theres not much talk about these motor mounts...are the factory ones designed very well?

I ran the AMS 90 front ones alone for a while before changing it to the 75 duro ( black one ) to go with the 2 other AMS side mounts. I was expecting more vibrations with the additional 2 hence I 'downgraded' the front motor mounts. Theres a little more vibrations than just having the 90 front motor mounts alone.

I feel that if you could live with the first set up, the second should be ok.

And yeah, I do realize it sort of shifts better..

the mechs took about 2 hours max for the 2 side ones, removing the mounts itself, pressing out the oem, putting in the ams ones and fitting the mounts back.

wow, that doesn't sound too bad at all...maybe i'll look into these mounts

would you say they made a pretty big difference versus the single front motor mount by itself?

yeah.. took me awhile to compare the additional vibrations vs the firmer feel but it was worth it for me eventually

I have some experience with these, and I also have for sale the mounts you're looking for. Some of my review is on this for sale thread, and I've also provided a review in the "notchy/grinding transmission" thread stickied above regarding how much these helped.

Let me know if you're interested, or if you have any other questions.

https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sa...-bushings.html

By the way, what I'm selling is the pre-pressed mount, which means the OEM bushings do not have to be cut out (which renders them useless if you ever wanted to reinstall). With the pre-pressed ones, you just undo a few bolts, take out the OEM bushing/mount, and swap the AMS in. Then you can reverse the process if you ever need to go back to stock...

i havent change mine.. but i have change mazdaspeed6 motor mounts.. and it depends,, the owner bought the performance (racing) motor mounts and actually one of the motor mounts in the car was leaking already so ofcourse it needed to be replace.. after replacing the mounts ofcourse you can feel the engine is stiff and the bad part is that you can actually feel the vibration of the engine inside the cabin .. so i think it depends..
