FP Green installation thread - list of parts and tools needed
Unless anyone objects, I'm trying to put together a thread of the parts and tools needed for installing an FP Green. I thought this would be useful since I myself am confused about what exactly is needed.
I'll update this thread as I learn more from your responses and what I gather from a couple other scattered threads I saw. We could potentially convert this to a How-To later if it looks worthwhile. That said...
Parts:
- Inlet gasket for compressor 1515A053 (optional)
- Outlet gasket for compressor (same as old VIII IX) MR281085
- Oil Drain line gasket MR258477 (optional)
- Oil Feed Line copper washers (two but in one piece) turbo 1226A003
- Oil Feed Line copper washers (also two in one) Engine side (don't have to remove but other have reported leaking so I'm changing it) 1028A052
- (4) Bolts (mn119783), washers (md132933), and nuts (Part number?) for the manifold to replace existing two studs and two bolts. *Optional
Tools:
- Metric socket set
- Extensions (various sizes needed; suggest one 24", two 12", and a 6")
- Swivel wrench (1/2" or 3/8" - pick your poison)
- 10, 12, & 14mm sockets / wrenches
- Various small screwdrivers
- Needle nose pliers
- 14mm Socket, 6 pt. Flex / Swivel socket (http://www.sears.com/shc/s/p_10153_1...0070921x00003c)
- Breaker bar (optional)
Materials:
- 5 quarts 5w-30 synthetic oil
- 1.5 gallons of 50/50 mixed coolant
- Lots of Penetrating oil (PB Blaster), 4 cans or so.
- Clean rags
Other thoughts, suggestions? This is all based off of other Evo X owners who have done installs thus far - many from 'that other Evo X' board out there

Also read the install instructions written by Garrett (can be found on www.turbobygarrett.com).
The 14mm swivel in priceless!!!! It makes it significantly easier to get to the bolt on the bottom of the turbine housing, and also the exhaust manifold nuts. Ideally, you should get new washers that go on the turbine housing/exhaust manifold connection, and new washers for all the exhaust manifold nuts.
