Oil Residue inside the Turbo Outlet pipe

I was installing my new UICP when i noticed what looks like an engine oil (dark brown) residue inside the turbo outlet pipe, it's not a lot though.

I'm aware that the turbo is lubricated with the engine oil.

Is this normal?

Thanks.

+1. It's usually signs of the inner seal getting worn. When it gets really bad you will start seeing your air filter get saturated.

Excessive blow-by can cause this

Generally, it's from oil getting recirculated through the PCV system. Yes, it's normal.

This is what I originally thought but was just checking to see if he over oiled his k&n. Install an oil catch can and search. Good luck.

Then it's probably what spdracerut suggested.

Blow by is quite normal. However, the amount may not. I started noticing blow by in my intake pipe on my evo 8 being recirculated through the system and put back in there. This was then going into the turbo and intercooler lines and intercooler. I installed a catch can, and so far so good.

Get a catch can.

The stock crank case pressure system is designed for a stock boost levels. Replace your pcv valve and get a catch can on the line going to the intake and everything will be ok.

However, there should be minimal oil residue. If you have a pool of oil or a good amount, you have other problems.

Thank you very much for everyone who responded.

The oil residue is minimal i would say, it's not runny of dripping.

As mentioned it's from the PVC system, is normal and is nothing to worry about.

I attempted to install a catch can to prevent this, but it ended up still getting through. I think I tried a universal Greddy can and switched to a Perrin can without any better results.
