Quote: I attempted to install a catch can to prevent this, but it ended up still getting through. I think I tried a universal Greddy can and switched to a Perrin can without any better results.
Did you put anything inside the catch can to actually "stop" the oil from getting pushed through? I use couple stainless steel scouring pad inside my catch can.

I can't remember about the first one, but the Perrin came with a bunch of foam things. I think I had it on for about 18,000 miles and never once had to empty it. I think part of the problem was the fittings were both right next to each other.

Quote: But not the intercooler.

the intercooler will have blow by oil residue in it also,

i never had any luck with catch cans, they look pretty

if you take the intercooler or pipes out and its dripping oil out you would have some issues,

When i changed my uicp, i noticed some oil in the turbo outlet pipe and the part of the oem uicp near the turbo outlet.

Though I did not noticed or felt any oil residue at the other end of my oem uicp where it clamps to the intercooler inlet.

Car is on Perrin AP Stg1 Tune, and UR Catback before i bolted the UICP.

Came from MKIV 1.8t, these motors were notorious for blowby in the IC pipes. Some would even need to drain thier FMIC's when it got bad. Catch cans FTW!
