Did you check the various other 4b11 engine knock threads? Sounded similar from a glance

subscribed. Can't wait for the compression test results..

But in all honesty, if you had no compression, the spark plug would have been black as you said. Please keep us posted as this is a very interesting situation.

I wish you best of luck.

You just get a cheap compression gauge and do it yourself, they're not that expensive.

Consider it a investment... I use mine like 2-3 times a year, just to check my motor along with oil analysis.

Is not a bent valve or bad compression. Its something with the fueling and u already checked the injectors. So thats out of the equation. It most be connector for the injector. My guess is that connector is no good.

I was going to suggest this.

try rotating the plug to a different cylinder and see which one goes bad then. if its the same plug, then its bad... if its the same cylinder then it could be electrical.

so the connector hu? however, Its fine at idle, or seems to be anyway. when i unplug it, idle goes down alot. i can put a screwdriver to it and hear it pulsing.

well anyway, i just purchased one of those blue fuel pump relyas, since ive never replaced that, maybe it will work? LOL

you cant just rotate the plug, its hard wired in. I guess I could snip and switch it.

You know it is not getting fuel from that injector, the injector was tested and cleaned so it must be the electrical signal to the injector, either wiring or an ECM fault. There should be a way to test for proper electrical signal at the injector connector (but I am not aware of a procedure, perhaps a simple continuity test) and trace the fault from there. My guess is you will find no signal is getting to the injector as something vibrated off or fried when you tested the new MIVEC map.

Did you try just putting your finger on top of the injector while the car is idling? It should be ticking like crazy.

Also, if it's not working correctly, your fuel trims should be out of wack.

I did not check the fuel trims but during idle its fine. I put a screwdriver to it and listened, same as all others. i unpluged it and the idel dropped. Its seems its shutting down under boost. Or its just knocking under boost anway.

were straping it on teh dyno Tuesday afternoon, gonna do my testing under load/boost with a multimeter and see what we come up with.

in my case i had the same situation 2 of my spark plugs were like new (no carbon deposits etc) after a few pulls and the car was bogging and sounded different with knocks too. but it was my mistake, when i was washing my engine bay some water went in. took the plugs out, it rusted a bit cos of water trapped inside but after i cleaned them reinstalled and everything worked fine.

don't mean to jack the thread but sharing my experience

Hope you can solve your issues on the dyno, do keep us posted !
