Hoestly I love HKS but thier FMIC isnt the best option for the evo X. You have to buy thier whole kit also....other IC piping wont fit.

I love my 4" ETS and it took 45 min to install on the ground in my garage

HKS makes two different intercoolers for the X now. One for stock piping and one for their piping.

actually the intercooler is the same. type 1 is just the intercooler, type 2 is the same intercooler plus the piping kit. if you buy the type 1 intercooler this month and buy the piping kit next month, then you actually have bought the type 2 hks intercooler.

I can put you in touch with a friend on the UK forums who has, I have the standard HKS IC pipe kit, his JDM HKS race intercooler has 10mm larger bore pipework as I said above.........standard turbo had difficulty filling it!! The other kit is standard size and not worth the cash imo, HKS bits are nice, but there's a limit!

if you can ask him did he change out the stock radiator for a larger one? cuz I think I read somewhere that the endtanks on the hks intercooler will block off the radiator even more and increasing the car's temp.

I recently put my hks fmic on and thats the reason i ask

For the price of the HKS front mount intercooler you have several other options available. We have several options available from 3.0" to 5.0" thicknesses.

The price is also nice as well

Thanks!

Michael
