FP RED = 1100cc injectors?

After a long debate over the Dom 2.0 and FP Red. I have decided on the FP Red route. Now I have been waiting for the DW 1000cc, but still currently out of stock (backorder).

I have been informed that FIC 1100cc would be another option. Now there have been a couple posts regarding FIC, talking about lactency, duty cycle, etc. I like to convince myself that I understand all this, but unfortunately that's all foreign to me. Correct me... but the DW is a direct plug in and the FIC is "plug and play" with the harness adapter.

I like to follow up and see if the X community, particularly from turbo upgrade users, has taken this as a "good" alternative option or holding out for the DW. Like to hear feedback "layman terms". From both DW or FIC users. Or is there something else you can offer.

Thanks for your time.

Parts so far:

FP Red, AMS downpipe, UR catted test pipe, Megan dual SS 3", ETS 4" intercooler, UIP, LIP, AEM intake, AP

Parts to get: injector ?, fuel pump.

They are both plug and play, as far as adapters go, as long as you have the adapters for the FIC1100's. The FIC's have a different plug on the end of them, so the stock plugs won't fit.

Both will need to be tuned for.

Here is a comparison picture, Stock vs FIC1100

Here is another of me soldering on the pigtails. I chose to direct wire the plugs because I can.

The FIC have way better reviews overall and I've yet to here of random injector failings or cloggings on the FIC's not to mention you get a little more cc. If you're running pump gas only you can get by with 800's but if you want E85 at minimum I'd get 1100cc-1450cc and also a double pumper of some kind (Buschur/BlaqOps) if you go E85 otherwise a single walbro 255lph should be sufficient.

Golden - Did you splice yours?

At the moment this will be on crappy Cali 91 pump. However, def. would like the option of going E85 later. Yes, leaning toward the BlaqOps option.

Jon @ HBSpeed will do the tuning.

The FIC's haven't been out long enough to have bad reviews, or sold enough. I would personally be comfortable with either, but since the DW's are out of stock right now, the 1100's would be a decent choice.

You might want to ask Jon about the DW1300's that are available for beta testing.

Yes, splice, solder, direct wire, whatever term you like to use.

I would like to add that FIC1100 would equal the flow of a DW1200 (not that they exist), because of the way FIC rates them.

If you read up on the flow rates of the FIC, FIC themselves say that on some injectors, they will use the exact same base injector as their competitors, but the competitors call them 100cc more. Example: FIC900's = XXX1000's. I won't name brands.

so what you're telling me is that, you're getting this FROM FIC and they say that their COMPETITORS lie about the flow rating of their injectors, but FIC are leggit?..... hummm....... doesn't seem like a marketing thing at all....

do you have some hard proof of this claim(ie, flow charts or something)? otherwise, its all he said she said.

Nope, sorry. I thought I remember someone else saying that this injector and that injector were the same base injector, just labeled different and given a xxx900 and xxx1000 names.

Doesn't really matter to me, 100 cc isn't enough to warrant buying one brand or another.

I've bought two sets of DW's and they both came with charts. The 800's were 820 and the 1000's were 1011. My ID2000's are actually 2235 at stock fuel pressure.

The important thing is that each one in your set flows pretty darn close to the same, not the exact flow. If you happened to get a set at +100 then somebody else probably got a set at all kinds of other numbers.

DW1300's and 1500's are currently available in limited quantities but only to professional tuners (GST, HBSpeed, MAP, probably any well known shop could order them if you're being tuned there).
