E85 Fuel System

Well i've really been considering switching to e85 in the next couple of weeks. Mods as of right now are ams intake, test pipe, catback, and xtremeboost 02dp. I made 297whp at a DG motors dyno day but after some other members have looked over the maps, it seems to have been a pretty crappy tune since they were rushing cars on and off the dyno.

I want to make the switch to e85 this summer but im a little confused on what the proper fuel setup would be. I am strongly considering a larger stock-frame turbo in the future, and do not want to have to re-upgrade the fuel system if i do.

---->I know i could most likely run the blaqops single 255lph kit with 1000cc injectors for the stock turbo but would i max the injectors if i went larger turbo?

---->If that is the case, would the single pump with 1200ccs (are they available?) work or would i need a double pump?

I also plan on having a 93 oct map as well incase i go on roadtrips etc, so i don't want to go with too large of injectors either. Obviously price is a large factor, so i would much rather go with the single pump setup if possible.

Please recommend a good set of injectors (dw, id, fic?) and what pump setup you think would work best for my goals. Stock turbo for now, possible turbo upgrade in future. Would like to go with the least complex and most inexpensive setup that would work.

Also, i would love to hear recommendations on some opensource tuners in the northeast that have had good luck with e85. So far i have been considering CBRD or possibly The Shop in Ct.

Thanks everyone

Single Walbro ($70-100ish), Evo IX fuel sock ($5), JEGS inline filter with replaceable element ($30), 2 ft Gates submersible fuel line, fuel line connectors ($5.75 each, I forget where I can find out)

DW 1300cc plug'n'play injectors or DW 1500cc plug'n'play injectors ($400-500)

I'm going to go with the 1300cc's as I don't plan on ditching the stock turbo, but gonna use the rest of the parts above with the addition of a surge tank most likely...

I did what you are trying to aviod. I upgraded to the single walbro and DW 1000cc injectors with E85 on the stock turbo. Now I have to upgrade my pump and injectors again with my new turbo. Plan on a double pumper and DW 1500 at a minimum or some of the 2000 cc injectors depending on what turbo you go with and your HP goals. To give you an idea we ran my car with my 6262 and E85 before my 91 tune just to see what would happen. We ran out of injector at 408 AWHP with my current fuel set up.

if a double pump would be needed. would you recommend the inline ams kit or the blaqops double pump. (their economy version?). Do you know anywhere that carries the DW1300s right now, i though they werent out yet?

would 1300s be too big for when i wanted to run pump?

Seriously? I've emailed him quite a few times and rarely went more than an hour or two before Chris replied.

Are your emails asking him to divulge secrets for free or are you asking him about which kit to buy?

I think it'd be okay since a number of people run ID2000's on E85. Seriously, though...if you're taking a trip so far that it requires pump then consider renting a car. Why would you want to put those kind of miles on an Evo?

im considering going with the blaqops single kit with dw 1300cc injectors. if i want to go larger turbo later down the road i can grab the ams inline walbro kit.

Any suggestions on tuners? Im looking at ivey, CBRD, The Shop in CT, and maybe going back to DG Motors

We released our 1300cc's yesterday afternoon. MA Performance is our lead dealer on this...and I believe they are doing a free upgrade to 2-day shipping for the first 10 buyers. Link to their thread is in my sig.

i talked to JR yesterday, he said tuned a few e85 stock turboX's.. if you want i could prolly talk to him and see what he could do for you..

in honesty, stick with the pump gas since your on the stock clutch and you said its already struggling.

get a twin disk first.

i have the 800 cc dw and im running about 85% duty cycle so im sure the new 1300 would work great and i also bought the double pumper from blaqops so when i upgrade my turbo i dont have to mess with the fuel set up again and remember the dounble pumper kits does not come with the 255 pump just the 270 so you will have to buy the 255 on top of the kit but u will love the e85 i have no regrets

If you're doing something custom then it probably would be better to do it yourself so that you totally understand how it works. I think the BlaqOPs kits are worth the money for the many people that aren't familiar with how fuel systems work and don't want to spend the hours to figure it all out.
