Magnaflow Resonator

Hi guys!. I'm pretty close to purchasing a catback exhaust.
I'm considering a magnaflow dual exhaust. But from the vids and research it seems that its relatively quiet.
I'm asking for info about removing the resonator.

Would that make a nice improvment on the sound?
Thanks guys!

The Magnaflow only has one muffler so what would you be removing? It is on the quiet side (youtube vids) and it has a severe bend in the design.

Why buy something that needs to be modified for your taste? There are plenty of louder alternatives. From my exhaust research it seems low on the community list.

You want something with some growl...go with the ETS CB with straight through resonators. I has a nice sound for cruising around...can be a bit loud for some...but when you get on it...especially past 3K up...it really opens up and comes to life
I came from an SRT-4 which had a pretty loud exhaust from the factory...no mufflers just two resonators. When I got the Evo it was just to quiet. The ETS CB really did the trick.

I've heard X's in person with it and it sounds pretty much stock.

I have the Magnaflow and while it is not as loud as many aftermarket exhausts it drones annoyingly at highway speeds (75-80 mph in California). Made long trips tiring. Installed an 18 inch Vibrant Performance resonator and the drone went away.

With an HFC and the stock downpipe it sounds almost stock at cruise. You can def. hear it under WOT.

I can report back next week about the change in sound once I swap out my HFC and put in my test pipe/downpipe.

I have the magnaflow, do it. It's cheap, not sure who said it was expensive. Like $550 on amazon.com.

Thanks for the advice dude. I dont think anybody mentioned that it was expensive. On the contrary, they said it was an inexpensive option.

Which HFC cat did you go with? The magnaflow catback necks down to 2.5 inch, which ones mate up to it?
